Cassie snuggles against Kate’s side, smiling up into the phone held overhead. She watches their image in the screen as Kate tosses her hair, finding her perfect angle.
“Ready?” Kate asks, and Cassie nods. Right before sticking her tongue out the exact second Kate’s thumb taps down to take the shot.
The photo’s amazing - Kate looks like a supermodel, Cassie looks like an idiot.
“You are the worst,” Kate laughs. “We’re trying again.”
In the next shot, Cassie puffs out her cheeks, glaring. The next, Kate crosses her eyes, bares her teeth. The next, Cassie juts out her jaw, flares her nostrils. The next, Kate digs fingers into Cassie’s side, so her eyes fly wide and her mouth opens in a shriek.
“We are so photogenic,” Cassie teases, as Kate scrolls through terrible photo after terrible photo.
“Urgh, we can’t let Billy and Teddy win,” Kate groans.
“True,” Cassie giggles. “We’re the cutest couple in Young Avengers, it’s just a fact.”
“Damn right!” Kate grins, and then she’s leaning forward, kissing Cassie sweetly, and Cassie’s so caught up in the feel of Kate’s lips she almost misses the shutter sound of the camera.
In the photo, Cassie looks flushed and happy, leaning into the kiss. There’s a hint of a smile at the corner of Kate’s mouth, one hand tangled in Cassie’s t-shirt.
Kate sends the boys a photo of her and Cassie pretending to shove their fingers up each other’s noses instead.
The kissing photo’s just for her.
