Summary: The whole room is white and it's hurting Alison's eyes...
The whole room is white and it's hurting Alison's eyes. Also, her head hurts, too. She's not sure which one hurt more.
Alison suddenly sits upright, perhaps a little too quickly, because she has to grab the bedframe to keep from falling out of it.
Wait, she is in a bed. A bed not hers. This room is not hers, either. The words, "what the fuck", were barely out of her mouth when she hears someone else's voice.
A calm, but firm voice that is very familiar to her.
Alison looks slowly behind her and there stands Beth, leaning against the white doorjamb. Her coat is not fastened all the way and Alison can see her badge shining. Ouch, even that hurts.
"What did you say?" Alison asks groggily, rubbing her temples.
"I said, it appears that the wine has made it out of your system," and Alison will bed damned if her voice doesn't sound like mother scolding her child.
Alison can't help but groan. Functioning alcoholic her ass, she thinks. "I'd rather not know what time it is."
"It's half past eight," Beth informs her, smiling. Damn her.
"Shit, that means--"
"Yep, and that's not all, my friend."
