The ceremony starts tomorrow, and Audrey caught sight of the soon-to-be Queen wearing a silky (did they have silk down here, she wondered) blue dress instead of that skin-baring two piece thing that left little to the imagination (not that she knew any better, she thought). Her naturally white hair had been tied into a long, thick braid, the tattoos on her face more extensive and complicated looking.
Even though she was technically hundreds of years old, she didn't look a day over twenty.
At least, that was Audrey's opinion of her.
Audrey, for some reason, felt relieved by this. She refused to think that it was because of the inferiority of her breasts (and hips).
Soon would begin her reign over what was left of her people. She found it similar to her own situation, taking over her father on this expedition and what was left of his shop. They both had little left.
But, she knew what would soon change, once she cashed in a bundle of their golden treasures.
She found herself feeling a bit sorry (not guilty because she'd already felt that once and it was terrible). Kida had not witnessed her father's death, but had watched him dying without being able to do anything.
The health of her own father could be better, but he was not even near death. At least, Audrey hoped not (just how long had they been down here, anyway? The days seemed to last longer).
