The bed linen was lavender scented, but that did nothing to soothe the guilt that had wedged itself inside of Garcia.
Not just the instinctive guilt she felt over Emily's death, but because of who was laying next to her, a woman who looked oddly like Jennifer, now that Garcia thought about it. She wondered why she hadn't noticed before.
There is movement next to her; Garcia almost freezes up, but then remembers it's just Ashley, who has only been part of the team for a few months and did not feel like a part of their little family.
It was mean and perhaps a bit childish to feel this way, but it was true.
Which is perhaps why, in an ironic sort of way, it had been hard to resist temptation when Ashley had spilled a shot of vodka on her white blouse when they had visited a nondescript bar, allowing Garcia to see her navy blue, lacy bra.
This whole thing did little to comfort her.
