Marci knew that every trade involved at least two people. She had never initiated one herself, but more than half the time the ones had, who thought they understood what they were getting (who thought they stepped in mud, but it was actually shit), and paid the price for their own vices.
But, Marci had always been content with what she got.
The nurse sat at the same table, her scrubs wrinkled, her tired expression which belied her confidant posture.
Must have worked a double shift, she thought smugly, knowing that her cleavage was spilling out of her blouse. It might come in handy, and who knows, the woman might surprise herself if the sight of them pleased her.
The waiter brings their drinks, a gin and tonic for the nurse, a martini for herself. Afterwards, the nurse slides an envelope discreetly across the table.
Marci smiles at her knowingly.
