Regina looked up. “Miss Swan. Please. Sit.” She nodded at the chair on the other side of the table.
Emma sat. She plucked a menu from the table. She was wearing a white top under a worn red leather jacket.
“Why are you here?” Regina asked impatiently.
“Breakfast.”
“This is a long way to come for breakfast,” Regina took a sip of her coffee. Emma caught the eye of the waitress and ordered.
“Maybe I wanted to see you,” Emma met Regina’s gaze. She looked to the waitress her name tag had read ‘Ruby’. “You weren't planning on interfering here were you?” Emma’s tone oozed accusation.
“Interfere? With what?” Regina smirked.
“We know what she is.”
“Then you know why I'm here.”
“Stalemate then,” Emma shrugged.
“It seems it always is with us.”
“So. Which way are we going to go?” Emma asked. “These things always end one of two ways.”
“We fight...” Regina said.
Emma leaned forward. “Or we fuck.” Emma’s eyes turned completely black.
“Let’s finish our coffee,” Regina said to the demon. “Then we can decide.”
Emma blinked and her eyes returned to normal. Ruby brought her coffee and topped-up Regina’s. They both watched the waitress.
The angel and the demon drank their coffee, keeping their eyes on each other. The tension and spark between then grew as it always did.
Violence or sex.
One or the other.
When the coffee was done they both stood, both knowing exactly what was going to happen.
