Merida guided Belle's fingers with her own.
"There," Merida said softly in Belle's ear, "right there, just like that."
Belle swallowed, concentrating on keeping her fingers curled just as Merida had instructed. The hairs on the back of her neck were standing up.
"A little further, yes that's it."
Belle maintained her focus. She concentrated on hitting that perfect spot.
"Now," Merida's command came as a whisper.
Belle released the bowstring. The arrow soared across fifteen meters of the lush green field to the round target and thumped into the wood. The arrow had pierced the outer ring of the target but it was a definite hit.
Belle grinned and Merida gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Okay get another arrow and lets see if you can do that again."
Belle took an arrow from the quiver on the ground nearby and took up the stance again. With Merida helping her practice she was sure she'd improve her skill with a bow quickly.
Especially if kisses from Merida were to be her reward for successful shots.
