Summary: Dorothy wants to know about Elphaba.
Galinda couldn't send her home straight away -- there had been things needing to be done, preperations to be made and the like. As an apology, Galinda herself entertained the stranger.
Dorothy wanted to know about Elphaba. She had no interest in the long explinations about the Emerald City and Shiz that Galinda wanted to give; she wanted to know about the woman she killed, the woman they called the Wicked Witch.
And eventually, Galinda told her about the woman: the strength, the opinions, the cynicism, everything she knew. And Dorothy even got hints of the literal woman under the robe: the beautiful lush emerald curve of her breasts, her gasps when she was aroused.
Back in Kansas, Dorothy tries to believe it wasn't real, or else she'll never move on. But her dreams take her back, again and again, to that castle, the green woman; in her dreams, there is no water but sweat, no screams but out of pleasure, no coldness but intense heat. And she thinks if her time in Oz had been like her dreams, she wouldn't have left.
