Title: A Simple Ending
Fandom: House MD
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Stacy/Cuddy
Prompt: P is for Paltry
Rating: G
Word Count: 120
Author's Note: Cross-posted to my journal.

She asks Stacy to stay. Not for her, because that would just be silly. But for House, because even though he’s pushing her away, she knows that he really wants her.

But it’s a paltry gesture and they both know it. Stacy will leave if she wants, and no amount of begging will make her stay. She learned that lesson the last time. And she’s not even really begging this time.

“You could stay” can’t be constituted as much at all to anyone, except the two of them who understand how much it takes for her to say even that.

“No, I couldn’t,” is all Stacy says, and then she’s gone without even a kiss goodbye.

Gone.

A simple ending.

Title: Twice Fooled
Fandom: House MD
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Stacy/Cuddy
Prompt: B is for Bamboozle
Rating: R for one word
Word Count: 130
Author's Note: Cross-posted to my journal.

Fool me once, shame on you, she remembers thinking the first time she found out that Stacy was gone.

The first time that she didn’t even get a phone call or a note or a goodbye or a fuck you or anything. Just one minute Stacy was there and the next she was gone, and she was broken just as much as Greg was, but she’d never let him, or anyone else see that. And she swore that she’d never let Stacy Warner in again.

And now here she sits, trying to hate Stacy for coming back into her life and trying to hate House for making her leave, but all that she can manage is the thought that this is somehow her fault.

Fool me twice, shame on me.

Title: Weathering The Storm
Fandom: House MD
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Stacy/Cuddy
Prompt: V is for Votive
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 190
Author's Note: Takes place directly after the Humpty Dumpty episode. Cross-posted to my journal.

She’s never really been one for candles, but with the power out and the water dripping in from her unfinished roof, she really doesn’t have a choice. She’s in her nightgown, has just finished lighting the candles and placed a pot under one of the leaks when the doorbell rings.

She is surprised, and yet not, to find Stacy on the other side of the door. “I thought you might need -” Stacy seems unsure of how to finish the sentence.

Cuddy has never seen Stacy unsure. She ushers her in and offers her tea although there’s nothing to heat it with, and Stacy declines without ever letting on that she realizes that fact.

“I like the candles,” Stacy smiles, trying to break the strangeness of this all.

And then her mouth is on Cuddy’s, and the nightgown is no longer on her body, and the dining room floor is wet, but neither of them seem to mind. And the storm rages on outside, and the guilt rages on inside of Cuddy, but for this moment it’s just them and the candles and the rain, and that’s all Cuddy needs.

Title: That Lisa
Fandom: House MD
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Stacy/Cuddy
Prompt: Y is for Yank
Rating: R
Word Count: 200
Author's Note: Cross-posted to my journal.

The first time she had been with a woman was with Stacy.

That Lisa (because she was a completely different person now) was fresh out of med school, rather drunk, and willing to do just about anything to please Greg House. Stacy had been wild and adventurous and willing to do anything (she had heard the stories) to please House as well.

Stacy had dropped down on her knees while House looked on and That Lisa thought that she would pass out or puke (never drinking again). And then Stacy was yanking down her pants and she couldn’t breathe (I’m going to die), but when Stacy’s skilled fingers (had she done this before?) slipped into her underwear, everything around her including House blurred, but Stacy came into sharp focus (so beautiful).

She had been with other women since then, but now she was a completely different person. She was Lisa Cuddy, Dean of Medicine. A fact she had to remind herself of when Stacy would come into her office. They were both different now.

But sometimes she wishes that she were That Lisa again and Stacy was on the floor in front of her, yanking down her pants. Just sometimes.

Title: What A Way To Go
Fandom: House MD
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Stacy/Cuddy
Prompt: F is for Fatal
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Author's Note: Cross-posted to my journal.

“This is gonna be the death of me,” she would mumble each night after Stacy would crawl from her bed, kissing her shoulders and bare neck before dressing and leaving to go home to her husband.

Neither she nor Stacy ever knew if she was referring to the sex, Stacy’s leaving each night, or the intense guilt that filled her whenever she had to face Mark, or worse yet House, the next morning.

Stacy would just smile and kiss her one last time. “But what a way to go.” And then she’d be gone.

What a way to go indeed.

Title: Marking Her Territory
Fandom: House MD
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Stacy/Cuddy
Prompt: J is for Jugular
Rating: PG
Word Count: 145
Author's Note: Cross-posted to my journal.

Stacy is very territorial and she likes to mark what’s hers. In some ways she reminds Cuddy of an alpha male dog, growling when anyone comes near her territory.

Everyone and everything in Stacy’s life is marked by her somehow. Her briefcase has her initials engraved on it, her car has a vanity plate, and a day after she hires her, her office door has her name on the glass. It’s just Stacy’s way.

As for the people in Stacy’s life, House has the scar on his thigh, a giant, gaping reminder that screams Stacy. And Mark has his wheelchair, and his insane push to learn to walk again, if only so that Stacy can’t walk out on him.

Cuddy just has the bite marks on her neck, over her jugular vein. And she thinks that she’s made out the best of all of them.

Title: An Addict Like You
Fandom: House MD
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Stacy/Cuddy
Prompt: N is for Narcotic
Rating: PG
Word Count: 130
Author's Note: Cross-posted to my journal.

House thinks that she doesn’t understand his need for the vicodin. But she understands more than she could ever tell him.

Because Stacy is so much like a narcotic, that she has to wonder if his increase in intake after Stacy left was because of an increase in pain, or because he’d lost the high of Stacy.

Stacy, she knows all too well, is addictive and dangerous in large quantities. She’s as bitter as his vicodin. She can cloud your thoughts and take all your pain away, only to bring it back, even stronger than before once she’s out of your system.

Cuddy understands. She’s had to detox from Stacy just like him from vicodin. And just like him, she knows that she’s an addict, waiting for her next hit.

Title: In Good Company
Fandom: House MD
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Stacy/Cuddy
Prompt: H is for Hankering
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Author's Note: Cross-posted to my journal.

They’re all addicts, it seems to Cuddy. Stacy craves the cigarettes, House craves the vicodin and the puzzles, Wilson craves the women other than his wife, and the ducklings crave House’s acceptance and praise. She never thought of herself as an addict. She didn’t have that hankering for anything like the others did. Until Stacy.

But now that she’s realized what a drug Stacy is, she’s accepted the fact that she’s an addict. She has, in fact, embraced it. Stacy runs freely through her system now.

Because she realizes now that at least as an addict she’s in good company.

Title: Simple Certainties
Fandom: House MD
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Cuddy/Ali
Prompt: A is for Anticipate
Rating: PG
Word Count: 200
Author's Note: Takes place during the Lines In The Sand episode. Cross-posted to my journal.

She’s waiting in her living room for the girl to show up. She knows that she will, she saw her waiting just outside the hospital grounds, watching her and House drive away in separate directions. Ali’s eyes had followed her car, not House’s motorcycle. She’ll show up at her door any minute now. Cuddy is certain of it.

Just like she’s certain that the girl really does have a problem. And she’ll tell her that and then turn her away and tomorrow she’ll convince House of it and the girl will be cured and out of their lives. Simple.

Except that she’s anticipating the girl’s arrival more than she should be, and she’s thinking of doing other things besides just sending her off on her merry way. But she can’t do them of course. Won’t do them.

The door bell rings and she smiles. And if she feels a pang of sadness as she opens the door, knowing what she has to do, she ignores it as best she can. This is the way things have to be now.

And if on some off chance there is nothing wrong with the girl, she only has a few months to wait.

Title: Not Another Redhead
Fandom: House MD/Crossing Jordan
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Cuddy/Jordan (with mentions of Cuddy/Phyllis (Y&R))
Prompt: D is for Dank
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 180
Author's Note: Refers to my earlier drabbles about Cuddy/Phyllis from Y&R. Cross-posted to my journal.

This is a bad idea, she thinks as she enters the old bar. The last time she was here was years ago, her life had been in shambles, and Phyllis had picked her up (or she’d picked up Phyllis, it really was hard to tell).

And now that she’d finally gotten closure on that (Phyllis was happily married with an adorable family, how much more closed did it get?) what does she do but come back to this place?

It’s still as dark and dank and smoky as she remembered it and she orders the same thing she’d been drinking that night so long ago and sits at the same table. And when the brunette comes through the smoke and sits down at Phyllis’ table, she smiles, and thinks at least it wasn’t another redhead.

“I’m Jordan.” The brunette says, but she already knows that, she’s read about the medical examiner from Boston.

“You’re a long way from Boston, Jordan.” She says with a seductive smile, and before Jordan can reply, “and that’s a good thing. For me at least.”

Title: Bad Idea Or Not
Fandom: House MD/Crossing Jordan
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Cuddy/Jordan (with mentions of Cuddy/Phyllis (Y&R))
Prompt: R is for Rind
Rating: PG
Word Count: 110
Author's Note: Follows Not Another Redhead. Cross-posted to my journal.

She’s on her third drink, Jordan her second, and she still thinks this is a bad idea and can only end badly. It’ll be a one night stand at best, practically a repeat performance of the Phyllis situation, and that took her nearly ten years to get over. She really doesn’t have another ten years to waste on Jordan.

But the brunette is quick and sharp and sexy, a welcome distraction. And when she looks over to see her toss back a shot of tequila and then pull the flesh of the lime clean off the rind, she makes her decision.

Bad idea or not, she’ll sleep with Jordan tonight.

Title: Room Full Of Ghosts
Fandom: House MD/Crossing Jordan
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Cuddy/Jordan (with mentions of Cuddy/Phyllis (Y&R)and Cuddy/Stacy and Jordan/Lily if you squint real hard)
Prompt: W is for Wanton
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 140
Author's Note: Follows Bad Idea Or Not. Cross-posted to my journal.

Jordan doesn’t need her the way Phyllis did. With Phyllis it had been about the need, slow and a bit awkward, fumbling in the dark. With Jordan it is all about the sex, wild and wanton.

Her hands seem to be everywhere at once and she’s shoving her back into the wall. Cuddy is reminded momentarily of Stacy, so she pushes back, biting at Jordan’s shoulder, trying to force down the memory of the two ghosts who have taken up residence in the room with them.

But with the frantic pace Jordan is setting, Cuddy can’t help but think that more than her ghosts are in the room with them. So she bites down on the brunette’s shoulder again, and allows Jordan to shove her on the bed. Because at least for this moment, the ghosts can’t hurt them anymore.

Title: Similar, Not Opposite
Fandom: House MD/West Wing
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Cuddy/Laurie
Prompt: O is for Opposite
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 160
Author's Note: Cross-posted to my journal.

Opposites are supposed to attract, she thinks as she lies in Laurie’s bed. Opposites. Ha. She and Laurie couldn’t look more alike if they tried. Similar, not opposite.

And yet they are opposites, in other, less striking ways. Laurie is a hooker who smokes pot. Cuddy obviously is not. But still, that’s less fun, to compare them in those ways, when on the outside they could be the same person.

And really, maybe that’s why this is attractive to Cuddy. Because she knows Laurie’s body as well as her own, knows how to make her moan and scream and cry. And it’s always better to be with another person than with yourself, even if the other person might as well be you.

It’s a lot less lonely too.

So she rolls over and kisses Laurie, running her hands down her body to her inner thighs. And when Laurie gasps into her mouth, she knows for sure.

Similar is far better.

Title: Breathing
Fandom: House MD/West Wing
Claim: Cuddy (except Cuddy/Cameron)
Pairing: Cuddy/Laurie
Prompt: G is for Girdle
Rating: PG
Word Count: 125
Author's Note: Spoilers for The State Dinner. Cross-posted to my journal.

Laurie shows up at her door in the middle of the night, wearing a ball gown and sobbing so hard she can barely breathe. She’s mumbling things about a State Dinner and a man named Sam, but Cuddy can’t make sense of any of it.

So she leads her inside, and tries to calm Laurie down, and when that doesn’t work, she unzips her dress and cuts the strings holding her girdle together, and in the morning she knows Laurie will be angry, but for now, at least Laurie can breathe again.

And in the morning Laurie surprises her by still being there when she wakes up and kissing her once. “Thanks for showing me how to breathe,” she smiles.

And then she’s gone again.
