"Your death," said Helen, "would hurt people, myself included." She laid a hand over Donna's hand, then her shoulder, then her cheek. "You are spectacular. The universe has been waiting since...."
"Best temp in Chiswick," blurted Donna. Helen stepped away. Donna's skin had a faint glow.
"What did I do?" said Helen.
"Too late" said Donna, "If you're going to shut me down, best do it now."
