The blond didn't sit up, or even lift her head, but she reached across the space between the table where she lay and the one that held Donna. Helen resisted the urge to bat her hand away.
"Doctor?" said Donna "Are you... still you?"
"Dunno," the blond said. "But you're you. Your pattern dominated. It's what should have happened before."
"Why didn't it?"
"I've never been a woman, Donna. Ten regenerations, and never... on Gallifrey, that's a perversion. I was afraid to step through this particular looking-glass."
"But you did, for me?"
The Doctor nodded. Helen felt like vomiting.
