Drabbletag 5 - Solitude
Fandom: Disney

Sometimes it’s all too much. Responsibilities, proximities, and Elsa adores her people and loves her sister deeply, but there are times she needs to get away.
So many days spent alone in her room, and it was a prison but also her sense of safety, and it remains the place she retreats to when the world outside is overwhelming.
But she is no longer alone.
Cinderella understands isolation. She once lived as a servant girl for her own family, mistreated, abused and beaten down, and although her heart remained open and giving, she understands what it means to be alone. To sometimes crave that solitude, whether hiding from an insurmountable fear or escaping an awful situation, even just for a few moments.
Elsa retreats to her room, but nowadays she takes Cinderella with her.
They curl up together, Cinderella stroking her hair and talking to her in a low soothing voice. She speaks of pleasant memories and happy futures, helps Elsa work through the storm within her mind.
And when Elsa is ready, when she tilts her head up imploringly, Cinderella will smile and kiss her, and the ice gripping Elsa’s heart will melt, fears chased away for another day.
