Summary: Pocahontas has a dream of the future. Again. But, it's hundreds of years away.
It was a strange dream. It didn't involve calm, unfamiliar voices or rainbow colored leaves. Not a pond that whispers to her through her mind. No mountains or waterfalls.
It was a man wearing strange blue clothing, white things on his hands, a snake-like contraption around his neck.
Then there was an odd white object with black rolling things on the bottom. It had shining lights on top of it, and it was very loud, as if someone were screaming--
She wakes with a choked scream, her heart beating like a trapped bird.
"Are you all right?" Pocahontas had forgotten Mulan was there, her voice startling her. It looked as if she'd been in the middle of cleaning her sword.
Pocahontas shook her head. Not because she wasn't all right (just a bit shaken, and confused) but, because she couldn't make sense of it at all. It was like a monster coming after, but she didn't see claws or teeth. Just shrieking and....her thoughts break up at that point.
Mulans fingertips are calloused, but her palm is smooth, causing Pocahontas to lean involuntarily into it. The tightness in her shoulders was fading.
"Don't fret. It was only a dream," Mulan says quietly.
Pocahontas can only nod. It was true, after all. She worried that she would have that same dream again.
