It was still early, and the grass was covered in the morning's dew.
It was light enough to shut the streetlights off, but the far corners of the street remained dark.
On the front porch, the bottle of vodka (or what was left of it), sat between them, looking serene and judgmental at the same time.
As if it were scolding them for last night. Or what almost happened, anyway.
J.J.'s half empty glass had a small crack on the side from when she knocked it over (before what happened).
No, Prentiss thought to herself, absentmindedly picking up the bottle, that didn't happen. It was just a kiss. A smear of lipstick.
A layer of clothing being unbuttoned, but it stopped there. Whose shirt it was, and who stopped it, she wasn't sure.
She didn't know she should be horrified or relieved.
All she knew was that her glass was empty again.
She doesn't even remember drinking it.
