Hello everyone. As you know the new phase will be starting again in a couple of weeks, and a sign up post will be put up nearer the time. However before then, I wanted to give you all the chance to make any suggestions you might have. Can be anything you like, from suggestions for challenges, to other activities we could do, or how

I was thinking that since teams do tend to have uneven amount of members, it might be a bit discouraging if two or more teams have full participation, but one of the teams gets more points than the others regardless. Maybe some kind of system where every team that gets full participation on a challenge, received the top amount of points

I approve of this idea and agree about the pace.

I'd suggest that if we're going to have a participation bonus it should be a flat number of bonus points -- I think it'd get a little messy otherwise. For instance, in the above example, if Team C had 13 members but only 12 participated (12 x 2 = 24 points), would both Team A and Team B get 24 points, and then five bonus points on top of that? It could get a little unfair from an individual perspective, simply because some people's efforts would end up being worth less. Unless it's a team challenge, which is a different situation, I think! Maybe we could limit the participation bonus to only certain challenges, though; sometimes I think it can end up feeling more like pressure than encouragement, since you don't want to let your team down and be the only person preventing them from getting bonus points

Alternatively, I've seen other land comms have an individual participation bonus, ie. for every x number of challenges completed, that member receives a few extra bonus points. Maybe that'd be a good way to reinforce participation without making people feel obligated?

Ooh, that's a great idea! And you're right; makes it less likely someone will feel pressured.

I quite like graphic chain team challenges. So, there's a set image and the one person edits it, followed by someone else, then either the first person or someone new edits the second one unit a great monster of a graphic is made and the team with the most edits wins. :D

Don't count us out if we got a little over two weeks without responding. There are so many reasons why people may take longer to respond, from stuff hitting them in RL (which God knows we got far too much of that last month) to not being interested in the current challenges. Take me, for instance: I'm signing up mainly for the fic writing challenges. I feel capable of doing absolutely nothing with the artwork, and the other challenges in land comms rarely interest me.
