It would be running away, and even though that's not something Annalise would like to say she does, she can see it. The envelopes she would leave for everyone, the thickest one for Wes, because someone has to do the things that have to be done, even when she has gone, and she has seen Wes clearly, and he has it in him to get those things done. She sees other things as well, all the clothes she would leave behind, all of Sam's suits still in their closet, someone else's worry. Someone who isn't her.
Wind in Eve's hair. She's always liked that.
She takes a paper from one of the stacks in her office, writes Dear Wes, and imagines how Eve's bedroom is definitely painted something obscene, like coral, and that she would have to negotiate with Eve to paint it another color. She wonders what she would have to trade for the perfect shade of dark violet, and hopes Eve has a comfortable bed ( ... )
