We have cool air!
Got the serviceman out today to look at the heat pump. Low on Freon. Recharged it and it's back blowing cool air. Over 15 years, it had lost ~2/3's of it's charge. Probably should have gotten him to check for leaks, but I didn't. This should keep it running for another 5 or 6 years... (Yeah, I know. "Greenhouse" gases & such. But at $75/ ( Read more... ) -
Everyone home, then going again..
Well on Thursday, florentinescot returned from her trip, and viragostonewall and I finished teaching the Stage Sword fighting classes. New classes, Changes, and Watching the Son teach...
Today wore out my voice completely. It started with getting florentinescot packed up for her trip down south. In the midst of that, viragostonewall and myself were packing our dry fencing gear and plenty of spare masks, jackets, etc. to go teach a new class in the afternoon. Sabre and life...
Tonight turned out to be a teaching sabre night for me. The first lesson was to introduce one of my intermediate students to the weapon. (I teach the first two courses using the foil. I'm really supposed to be asleep right now. Really. I need to get a couple of nights of decent sleep before Saturday, when I'm supposed to get up at some unholy hour, drive 180 miles, fence in an epee event, referee as needed, and coach two of my advanced students in their events. Divisional Tournament
Well, last Saturday was our division's Summer National Qualifiers. Found out that at my level and age, spending all my time teaching beginners, especially doing it with my off hand (I'm a lefty), turned my competition game into mush. It's been a long time I was DFL in a foil event ( Read more... )
