First, let's talk about this child ♥ I have some video, and I have some pics~
I woke up at 4:26 AM because I AM that much of a geek (this wasn't even the worst of it--yesterday I told the lady on the phone when I called for a taxi that my name was "Tsuchinaga" [since there IS a Japanese family name 土永]). Then I recorded video of my sleep-deprived self stating this fact:
I hurriedly got dressed and dashed out the door, and managed to get to Shibuya and was in front of Gain by 6 AM--and was already 10th in line XDDDDD That means 10 other girls were CRAZIER THAN ME. That's so sad. I REALLY hope they all lived in Shibuya or something. Mitsuru and Asami actually came right after that (HAH! I'M A BIGGER TUTI/NAGAYAN FANGIRL THAN MITSURU, IT'S OFFICIAL), and we chatted a little but mostly politely ignored each other -_-;;
Shot of the closed Gain storefront
susa_chan arrived shortly after that
Shot of the line
So, we were...11th and 15th in line! Tenchou arrived at 7:41 AM (we'd JUST checked the clock and he walked up XD) and passed these out--there were about 40 girls there at that point. After receiving this ticket, we were told to come back at 11 AM to actually get in to buy the bags, so Susa and I headed to Starbucks where we killed some time, then spent the rest in a Net cafe.
When we came back at around 10 til 11, there were some new faces present! Susa and I had JUST been talking about how, if the Kitty Guys were smart, they'd send a couple of members to this sale and leech Tuti's and Nagayan's fans to promote their show, and SURE ENOUGH. Tachibana and Sueyoshi were standing outside greeting everyone, helping out Tenchou with crowd control, and passing out flyers XDDDDD
KITTY GUYS SHIPS TUTI/NAGAYAN HAHAHAHAHAHAA I LOVE THAT TENCHOU MADE THEM WEAR THE DECOSSAM TAGS.
I have to give these guys SUPER MAD props though. Susa and I were the only foreigners there this time, and Bana and Sue were determined to give every single person there a flyer, which meant approaching the gaijin! Sueyoshi came up kinda tentatively at first (Tachibana MIGHT have recognized me, it's been a while since I was at a streetlive >_<) and greeted us, then passed us flyers and said if we were interested to please come. I took the flyer happily, but had the reveal I already had tickets XD;;; I LOVE BEING FOREIGN. His face was priceless ♥ Times like this, it's good to be Gaijin <3333
THE BABY! As you can see, it really takes after Nagayan.
Buuuuuuut parts of it also take after Tuti~~~~ It's a really interesting setup, actually. It's reversible, but by snapping the flap on with whichever side you want facing out. Changing who's represented is--pardon the pun--a snap!
The inside, complete with cellphone pouch.
Here's a closeup of Tuti's side--so you can more easily see the pink and yellow running through it ♥
And--the decossam badge! It really is a badge, like with a backing and everything that you can wear on anything. These are what Tenchou made Bana and Sue above wear to promote the bag XDDDDD
And now, we move on to Sono Tettou! Today I saw the 2PM afternoon show and 7PM evening show, and...wow, I just...it's hard to come up with words for this show. Except that it was amazing. It was completely different from Reverse Historica, indeed. If Reverse Historica was close to a normal *pnish* Box series show or something, then Sono Tettou was much much closer to something like Aru Hi, so that should tell you the level of thinkiness it evoked in the audience XD;;;;
The basic premise was you had these 4 guys back in WW2 who were members of a comedy troupe sent to cheer up the troops. But they got scared and all ran away, and hid in this abandoned tower to wait out the war (since there was word on the front lines that there would be an armistice in a week). They're joined by a deserting soldier who couldn't kill anyone, so he left the army, and much of the show is comedic, focusing on their desire to put on an On-esque show when they get back to Japan after the war, with the soldier as their newest member.
The most impactful aspect of the show, though, was how QUICKLY it switches back and forth between comedy and drama. One second you're laughing your ass off at Tuti pretending to be a girl in a miniskirt getting scoped out by an otaku, and the next your ears are ringing with the sounds of explosions and planes flying overhead, and all the guys on stage are cowering in fear.
The ending was very dark--while the war ended, the "friends" of the soldier hunted them down and killed them all for being cowards >_> It was really creepy. When you people see the show, you'll understand--the DVD should be out in July or August. Again: if anyone wants to preorder it, leave a comment. Same price as Reverse Historica. This could easily be one of my most favorite shows, just because of the really strange feeling it left me with.
But I know what you came here for :P PICTURES!!
HOTTEST. PAMPHLET!TUTI. IN A LONG WHILE. I'm gonna upload this REAL soon. Because. Holyshit. Susa will attest to this: THESE PAGES SHOULD'VE COME WITH WARNINGS.
OH. MY FUCKING GOD. I HAVE A NEW KINK. CAMERAS. If someone doesn't write me some fic involving Tuti shooting Nagayan I will HIT SOMEONE. There were a ton of shots like this of Tuti with this fancy camera, and he just looked so natural and comfortable with it, I can totally imagine him wanting to shoot Nagayan. It reminds me of that Aru Hi photoshoot pic where he took the little one of Nagayan being photographed...
GUH. SOMEONE HAAAAALP.
This was the postcard that came with the pamphlet. TUTI'S GAY, DID YOU KNOW THAT? WELL NOW YOU DO.
This, though, this was not the end to the AMAZINGNESS that was today. After the evening show, I went out with my new friend Ayumi (I'd bought a ticket via mixi from her last week, and we met up again and I hung out with her) to dinner. Around 10 PM, though, I realized I had LEFT ALL THE DECOSSAM BAGS in the theater--locked safe in a coin locker, of course, but the coin lockers reset in the morning >_<
We ran back to Aoyama Theater to see if anyone was still around, and sure enough it was dark, except for one long security guard. We begged his help, and he actually let us go up to the 3rd floor by ourselves--and funnily enough, the route we took was the backwards route the guys use to come out for demachi XD (we were going in and up, whereas they come down and out).
I tracked down the coin lockers, resisting the STRONG STRONG urge to check out the backstage area since I was 100% alone in an empty theater for the first and likely last time, and we headed back downstairs.
I knew a shortcut to Shibuya station, so we took it, and I lead the way. It happened to come out right at Gain, so I snuck a quick glance over, but as it was 10:30 by then (and Gain closes at 8) it was of course dark. We hurried on to Shibuya station, and got to talking about random things with each other.
About 1 light away from the main crossing to get to the station, I saw someone approaching from across the street out of the corner of my eye. I didn't pay them much attention, since they were just crossing towards our side of the street, and kept walking.
And then I noticed they seemed to be waving, and they seemed really familiar. So I turned to face them fully.
It was YAMASHITA-TENCHOU. Yamashita-tenchou spotted me crossing the street in SHIBUYA (SUPER BUSY) at 10:30 at night XDDDDDD I LOVE BEING FOREIGN. GAIJIN POWER FTW. We hadn't gotten to talk much earlier that day, so he got excited seeing I was already making good use of The Bag 8D He asked where we'd just come from, and we answered Sono Tettou, and then asked him where HE was just coming from, and apparently he'd only JUST left Gain!
He'd been talking to "Nagayama-kun" for a long while, he said, and it had kept him there late (NOTE TO SELF: STEAL TENCHOU'S PHONE ALONG WITH GAKU'S). Nagayan had wanted to know how the Bag sales went (me: *FLAILS INSIDE AS SHE WITNESSES HISTORY*), and was delighted to hear they'd gone--every last one of them--in SEVEN HOURS.
Yup--sold out by 6PM! OTSUKARESAMA DESHITAAAAA~!!!
Of course, I wasn't about to let this GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY pass me buy, and I NOT SO SUBTLY hinted that Nagayama-san and Tsuchiya-san should be proud then, and should, oh I dunno, consider making more 8D Tenchou heartily agreed, and said THEY'D BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE SAME THING.
GUYS. GUYS.
NAGAYAN'S TOTALLY OPEN TO DOING MORE.
SO.
POTENTIALLY.
4TH CHILD ON THE WAY.
Though, Tenchou admitted, it could possibly just be Nagayan re-releasing one of the previous ones, like this bag, again (which hey, that'd be fine too!). Tenchou had to head down to the subway, and Ayumi and I were headed to the JR lines, so we parted ways, and I told him to tell Nagayan he definitely had a market if he did some more, and thanks for the great item.
I LOVE OUR FANDOM. BECAUSE WE GET TO BE PART OF STUFF LIKE THIS THANKS TO IT.
I'M SO TIRED GUYS. G'NIGHT.
ETA: HOLY SHIT I JUST REMEMBERED.
In the pamphlet, the guys get interviews like Eiji and Daiki did, and Wasshi interviewed this guy I didn't recognize at first, until I realized it was the DIRECTOR OF ARU HI.
And in his talking about Tuti, of course he MENTIONED Aru Hi. The context? "You know...if I ever have the opportunity, I'd love to do Aru hi with you 4 *pnish* guys. If I got to work with you, I'd love to do something along the lines of that."
*PNISH*?! DOING ARU HI? HO. LY. SHIT.
I read this before I watched the evening show, and I must've spent half the time thinking about who would play which character. I really think Wasshi would be the best Man #2 (Nagayan's part--because Wasshi seems like he could go crazy really well, while still keeping it cool and creepy like Nagayan did). What do you guys think?
