Shinsei BuriMyu + TeniPuri Food Festa!

SO! Lots happened this weekend! And lots more will happen next weekend too, but that's for another post. This post, however, is dedicated to my amazing Saturday~ Which I know you're all just dying to hear about, so let's get started!

First there was...I went twice actually--once with amyused and imma_holiday Friday evening and then again with daiki_dansu Saturday afternoon. I'll just say...it was a LOT better than I was expecting! The singing was just--god, PHENOMENAL (well, most of it XD). How good? IMHO, Miki was NOT the best singer up there! Those dubious honors belong to Niiro, who played the bad guy Iruma, and his love interest Haruka (former Takarazuka soooo). I was just--socks. Blown off. Seriously. I stayed away from any spoilers or preview clips because I wanted to experience it all for myself--and I was not disappointed in the quality! Mokkun (apparently it's Miki's nickname for Oota, and now I kinda love it XD) was amazing during his Byakuya solo, and Kujirai had this weird quality to his singing voice that I was turned off by at first but now I kinda like for some reason XD

In the goods lobby, they had this poster signed by the cast XD The main lobby also had life-sized cut-outs of everyone in costume, but we weren't allowed to take pictures of that.

One of the promotional goodies they were selling were desserts based on certain characters--and I tried Hitsugaya's, which came with this cookie on top XD

The dessert itself! It was a layer of light blue and maroon mousse between two layers of cherries, yummy! You were also allowed to eat and drink in the theater, which was a new experience for me! XD;

Lastly here, we have a poster from Hibiya station, near the theater. I really think Kido (Hitsugaya) looks like Nagayan here!

Now, it being said that it was a great show, really well-performed...it failed in that I definitely did not leave it with the same feelings I usually have on leaving BuriMyu. But then--I don't like Bleach really, and since I didn't have any connection with these new actors playing these roles, it severely cut down on my enjoyment. 95% of my enjoyment in BuriMyu comes from the actors themselves and their comfort around each other, the history they all have together, so that just wasn't there. I'm not ashamed to admit I teared up when Miki came close to our row during the final song when they come into the audience, cause seeing her only reminds me that she's here alone now, not a part of a cast I've loved for five years but a new group of virtual strangers who are all SUPER talented but just...don't have the heart yet of the guys I'd rather see. Alas :(

And then there was...

Now, if you've never been--Namja Town is like an indoor walking park full of game centers, food courts, and fun stuff inside Sunshine City. It's quite large and very easy to get lost in. However, it didn't take us long to get in and find the first of many huge posters around the area telling us where to get our character-based yummy item of choice XD The only down-side was that everything was scattered around the park--it wasn't like a single shop had multiple items, so if you wanted to eat with your friends, you had to go and buy your item (assuming it was from a place that had take-out) and then go to another location to eat. Still, we managed to make it work~

IIRC this was Shitenhouji-based purikura? If you can't tell just from the next few pictures, the place was CRAWLING with TeniPuri fangirls, it was so surreal XD I'm not used to being around so many fans of my own thing outside of, like, TeniMyu or something. There was also a stamp rally, with several businesses in the Sunshine City area participating, where you went to each of the businesses and stamped a card with the team stamp available there--such as Shitenhouji available in this area of Namja Town, Seigaku at Animate, Rikkai at ACOS, Hyoutei at Cinema Sunshine, etc. The area we explored first was the Shitenhouji area, so that's why most of these pics feature those guys.

They had some huge lotto-bin you could spin and potentially win a badge for one of 3 or 4 schools I think. The staff member is covered up here, but she was wearing a Shitenhouji uniform XD And the monitors were playing the recent TeniPuri seiyuu event from January <3

I luvs me some ShiraKin :3 (the tennis ball sign asks you not to touch them... dammit)

amyused stamps her stamp rally card!

Buchou and The Pillar! After some fangirly gawking, though, our stomachs were reminding us it was time to eat, so we left a few of us in the Shitenhouji area for some Ecstasy Risotto (since it couldn't be taken out of the area) and I, leenaevilin, and beccy_chan headed down to the Gyoza Stadium on a MISSION. That mission? TO EAT REALLY GAY GYOZA.

Countdown to mission completion: T-minus 10 minutes.

beccy_chan dared to try Fuji's gyoza...

Countdown to mission completion: T-minus 1 minute.

WE HAVE LIFTOFFOISHI IN MY MOUTH. He was quite tasty btw :3

imma_holiday got Inui's concoction which was...I will just say it looked like the foulest thing EVER XD I didn't try it, but apparently it wasn't TOO bad. The juice was green-colored corn pottage it seemed, and then there were floating chunks of dumplings or something in it. Just. Eew XD

I didn't try this, seeing as I don't like takoyaki, but this was the Shiraishi/Kin-chan dish--with "Dokushu iya ya!" and...

..."Oshioki akan na!" written on slices of ham XD;; All sitting atop one HUGE single gyoza.

When you bought a dish, you also received a character-based sticker for your troubles :D After gorging on entrees, though, it was time for some dessert!

I partook of the "Hyoutei Saikyou Pair Parfait" ("Hyoutei's Strongest Pair Parfait"). Now, the important thing to notice here is the little pastry tennis ball (awww~) and the character crackers on either side. Each guy's cracker had his catchphrase as well as a little memento representing him attached with whipped cream. Shishido's of course was gekidasa da ze and a piece of mint gum XD Ohtori's memento was a piece of white chocolate with a treble clef drawn on it. However, his catch phrase...?

"SHISHIDO-SAN!" XDDDDDDDD

imma_holiday got the Hyoutei Kakikoori, and apparently whenever anyone ordered it, the staff shouted out "KATSU NO WA HYOUTEI!" <--fuck yes XD

A Marui and Jackal mochi ice cream dessert!

And Shitenhouji cheesecake XD

And finally, my booty from the day's fun~ DEFINITELY worth it for anyone who wants to go! It's running until September 30, so if you're in Tokyo, head on over to Sunshine City and have a blast with a ton of TeniPuri fangirls XD I definitely plan on going back--still have to get me some Dirty Pair burger and Child of God curry! XD
