HOLY CRAP WAS COMIC CITY SPARK FUN!

We met up at Tokyo Big Sight (we = me, faiee, and hamykia, with amyused and imma_holiday joining us later on their own) about 10 AM, then stood in line for about a half hour trying to figure out just where we were going to go. The weather was nice--a little warm, actually, which is never fun when one is hitting up a doujinshi event let me ( Read more... )

I don't think I've ever sold back at K-Books, but Mandarake is actually pretty easy (and surprisingly, so is Meikido). There is always a sell-back section (in Ikebukuro, I believe it's all the way on the far left wall, right next to the cashier). All they do is make you fill out a form with your basic info like name and address, and then they sort through your books and write down how much they're willing to pay for your books. If you accept, then you sign and they pay you. Just know that they'll have a pile for the books they're willing to take, and a pile for those they don't want. You can shop 'round and see if other stores want what they didn't, and you might sell one or two more that way, but it's almost like they have a book or something of what to buy, because they're all kinda standard. Meikido even has a little pamphlet when you come in that says how much they're willing to pay for certain fandoms ( ... )

Yaaay~ Was waiting for you to post an update on how it went! 8DD Yes, I am living vicariously through you since there's no way I could ever go to these events anytime soon. Glad to hear it was so much fun! 60 circles for NO.6??! *0* That really must've been a sight to behold! It's so nice to know the fandom has grown. I'm betting there would be even more when the February 2012 event comes along (Well, I'm hoping for it. More love to the fandom!). And how awesome is it that you got to meet the Japanese girl again, and she seems really nice from your descriptions. xD

Otsukare! XD How many hours did you spend looking around in the No.6 section? XD And that's great that there were more circles AND you were able to meet up with the same girl from before. XD If there were 60 circles this time at Spark, I can't even IMAGINE how many might be at Fuyucomi. =DDD

If no one else is doing it I'd love to see the AnE scans please :D Also, 60 circles XD That's brilliant. We've got....less than 10, but that's to be expected. Luckily, one of them is apparently bringing out a new book in November which I'm hoping to snag. I noticed a little bit of Utapuri stuff at CW this month, but it's still dominated by Vocaloid in terms of both merch and cosplayers.

I'm kind of tempted to get in to Utapuri now you've mentioned it so much. The fanart alone looks so pretty, and it's not big over here yet so it wouldn't be an expensive new habit.
