Facebook and LJ irregularities

Oct 30, 2009 09:16

Both Facebook and LJ are behaving very perculaiarly of late.

I am receiving LJ comments that I can't see.

Journal entries are being imported to facebook when I've disabled the function.

Private LJ entries are visible .....

What the Flip ?.....

If this is meant to be a private post, it isn't even friends locked. The whole wide world can see it!

I sent you a comment here last night but then deleted it, as I thought I had been a bit discouraging, and 'twas none of my business!

In cases like this, I would dump FB for a few days until my account is completely erased, then sign up again and gather my friends back. I've been through several pesky MySpace pages in this way.

I was happy enough for my public LJ posts to show up on FB and set it all up to import them until family started getting involved with FB. They don't know about LJ and I am happy to leave it like that, so I turned the feature off and deleted any recent imports from FB (though they go back further than I can be bothered to worry about).

At least FB is immediate and disposable, even more so than LJ, so I don't worry that people with the attention spans of my sister, niece and nephew will bother drilling down to imported writings of three or four years ago.

Similarly, I have given up on writing a blog obn MySpace, though I have set that up to import anything I leave unlocked here.

I don't believe in letting the right hand know what the left is doing, I mistrust any conectivity between websites - paranoid? you betcha.
