Hee, that's true I hadn't realized everyone in love with Jack survived. But it was such a waste of two characters I adored, and I hate to be one of those who stops watching a show because X happens, or YX don't get together or Z dies, but they were my two favorites, and sure there are other things I like about the show but without Tosh and Owen a huge chunk of what I loved is gone.
Still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I intend to tune in next year to see if they bring one or both back in some shape, way or form. At the very least they both went out heroically and in character.
I liked Toshiko. Didn't really keep up with the show, but I saw the finale and I liked Toshiko in other eps I'd seen.
Rhys managed not to die in this one though! And PC Andy. So long as they live I'm cool with it. Rhys was so awesome too, what a chap.
I suppose you never know what might happen - I never liked Owen at all. I really disliked him, actually, but he was at least a firecracker of a character.
Actually, as for a sort of reboot of the show - it'd be fun I think if they got two or three newbies to introduce to Torchwood 3. Or maybe they'll find Torchwood 4... or bring down the Glaswegian from Torchwood 2. ;) I like the new possibilities - but then, I wasn't attached to that pair like you were. So I'm probably a bit heartless in my contemplation.
Oh Rhys, I adore him. He's one of those things I like about Torchwood other than Tosh & Owen, and PC Andy.
Normally I'd be all, oooh possibities! Infact when I first read the spoilers I was pissed but thought, well, it could still be interesting next year. But now that I've watched them die I realized how utterly attached to those two I was. I'm very into the characters on shows, even if the show itself is starting to suck I'll usually dredge on for the characters I love until the characters start sucking or dieing. This is why I hate the new trend of killing characters to show how edgy and dark the world is and the deaths never really serve a point other than shock value.

That was quite the wholesale slaughter, eh?
Seems that unless you are in love Captain Jack you die at the end of the series. >.>
Heroic of Toshiko though.
