I gave blood today, for the first time in over a year. With today's train crash in Glendale, the Red Cross was asking for walk-in donations from anyone who could make it over at Overture. I went in right after lunch, which turned out to be an incredibly stupid idea ( Read more... )

This might be going out on a limb, but is it possible that you have some sort of blood sugar issue, like hypoglycemia or anemia? I know that just a little blood loss when suffering from either (or diabetes) can be pretty serious stuff. Hope you're feeling better soon, I'll keep you in my thoughts.

that really sucks! i hope you feel better! i have never understood why that happens sometimes. one time i saw it happen to someone - they just turned white as a ghost and nearly fainted. i've never have any problems, but never say never, right? have you ever done the kind of donation (i forget the name) where your blood is pumped through a machine where all the good bits are separated, and the rest is pumped back into you? it's not as hard on the donor, but a little creepy.
