Wow! This process is a cool idea. I realize I could easily do this, except for the few CDs that I sold... one of which I deeply regret selling (Pere Ubu's The Tenement Year).

I read the first ten and realized we got interested in music around the same time. I have several of those albums among my first 30 or 50.

I also still have a lot of Bedtime for Democracy stuck in my head. Jello Biafra should not wonder why the Dead Kennedys broke up after that, PMRC obscenity law suit aside. There are so few tunes in that album. It's also so dated that you have to spend way too long explaining it. Still, I loved it when I was in the ninth grade.

Biafra mentioned on his way out of the court room in 1987 that he was heading home to listen to Songs About Fucking. There's an album that still works, works well... at helping me gnash my teeth and get the grit out of my psyche.

Plenty of the things I'm listening to were on cassette or vinyl-- I'm filling in the gaps with Spotify and occasionally with things plucked from elsewhere on the net. (The free version of Spotify does have ads. On the other hand, it also has The Tenement Year.)
