I was just thinking that you have a great author name. No need for a nom de plume. I'd have to write under my first and middle: Robert Lawrence. The consonants in Jacobson are cumbersome, you know.
Thanks! I can only think of a few good reasons to have a nom de plume these days. You have to do so much self-marketing that it seems silly not to use whatever internet cache you've managed to lodge under your own name. You want to make it very easy for people to find and stalk you (not as simple as it sounds).
But if you write erotica under one name, you should definitely publish your children's books under another. ;) If you're a guy writing romance, you might want to make sure that it's not obvious you're male. Usually major genre-hopping, inflammatory content, or need to hide gender are the reasons for pseudonymity.
