Glad your dad is okay. Must be something going around - my dad ended up in the hospital about a week ago with his heart rate at 140 and his blood oxygen way down. After lots of tests they sent him home 10 hours later with a diagnosis of bronchitis and antibiotics. Now he is almost 100% again -- just a small periodic cough left behind.

Hurray for modern medicine and smart doctors.

Hey hon! I am so glad to hear that your Dad is feeling better. I would have replied much sooner, but LJ has been being really wonky.

Hurry for modern medicine indeed!

I'm glad you posted this. I'm really glad to read it.

I'm glad your dad is OK. I'm sorry you feel guilty and I hope in the time to come you can embrace the great luck you have.

I think that typing HTML longhand gives you nerd cred. :-)

I think that I do embrace my good fortune. It's just that I am also aware of the privilege we enjoy because of the fact that we live in places with good services. But that doesn't mean I wish we didn't have that. I just wish everyone had it.

Hope your holidays were good. I miss you! You should send me anything you've written lately :)

Happy new year! Some day soon, when it isn't so wicked cold, the 4 of us should take a walk around Burke Lake.

I would certainly up for giving that a try. My back tends to hurt really bad when I walk for very long, but I could try taking some advil in advance.
