With things how they have been, I decided to set up my life insurance and 401k accounts with Meijer. According to both sites, total, it's probably gonna put a $4 dent in my paycheck/week, but think it will be worth it. Now, once I'm sure we're gonna be okay once we're moved into a more affordable place, and I'm sure I can handle the car payment ( Read more... )

Always a good thing to start planning your retirement. Never too early if I say so myself. Heck, it took me only until recently in this past year to begin that. I feel like such a slacker! I like you definitely want something to rest easy on later in life. I sure as heck don't want to burden my kids with my aging self. =P

I hear that the 401ks are generally a good thing. Not that I have any experience of them.

Wanted to say about the GPS though. Be careful. My old roomie punched in the wrong data and I think that his was trying to drive us to Alexandria, or something.
