Otakon Plans for next year
Ok,
Since Kazu was already starting on this I'll do the same and start offically working on Otakon plans for next year.
1) Hotel Rooms: Since apparently no-one from our group seems to have a problem with sharing a room with a guy I'll be more than happy to share a room with whoever is offering. Dunno how many they will allow or if they will pull some lame stunt like Kazu was talking about with AX, but could we maybe fit as many as eight in a room if I count right? Or should we play it safer and get side by side rooms for four. Be a lot cheaper if we split one room eight ways since we'll probably be staying like 5 days (Thurs - Mon) but would that work? If we do decide to get two side by side we should totally reserve them early to get next door rooms.
2) Large Swag: Ok some things were not meant for Airplanes. These include mascots, swords, shields, and keyblades. So I would also be in need for someone from the east who would be driving to the con. I'd pay anything extra needed if someone would be able to have these things shipped to them and take them with them. Don't want to overload anyone by having both me and Kazu's stuff so I have a backup in case it won't work out.
3) Brawl: Once again we need one of you eastie people to be in charge of bringing the Wii. Now here's the thing: We need to set limits on Brawl beforehand so we actually go out and participate in the con itself. Ya know, big group of people in funny costumes wandering around? That thing. I can imagine some of us (like me) being like: "One more round! No that didn't count, we need to play another round!" So Brawl limits have to be in place.
4) Speaking of Brawl: Photoshoot people. I figure I'll wear Ike for the photoshoot since 1) He's more of "Brawl" character than Link (since mine is OoT) and 2) Kirby is wearing her Marth so I'll have Ike. Kazu is still pretty much committed to Pit, so we need ummm ... a lot more people for the full roster. Hardest to find imo are going to be Meta Knight, Olimar, Kirby, Donkey and Diddy, Fox and Falco, Yoshi, and Bowser, and the different Pokemons aside from Lucario (since I think we have like 2-3 if we need them). Ok so like half of the roster roughly, lol. Peach, DeDeDe, Ice Climbers are iffy but I've seen em before. Seeing more Lucas and Ness as well as the FE people so they shouldn't be too hard to find. Aside from that, everyone else is almost a certainty to be at the con.
5) Movies? Not a biggie but its always fun to crash to some pointless movie or anime. Any ideas on what would be good for just general crashing purposes? No Shonen-style animes since we don't have 87 weeks to watch One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, etc. but some kind of a good silly comedy anime is perfect for post-con crashing. Hmm ... didn't we do a "how much of an anime geek are you" quiz a few months ago? Yeah we did. Who actually watched every anime on that list? Why it was Kazu! So this means that Kazu is in charge of picking our anime watching stuff. lol :D
I'm probably forgetting something but it's good to plan a con this epic ahead of time I think. I mean we have a year still but we had a year and a half not that long ago so time is getting away from us. :D
