A young couple on As the World Turns kissed on air last week. They've declared their love many times, but hadn't kissed in 7 months. Last week was their third on-air kiss ever. You know, ATWT was my favorite soap in the Doug Marland days. I'd tape the whole week's worth of shows and then mainline them on Fridays after I came home from work. After he died the show went to shit and I stopped watching. I don't know if it's any better now or not, and I wasn't even aware they had a gay story line going. Still, I hate it when the AFA get their collective tits in a twist and try to enforce their views on the entire country.

Ah, Doug Marland. The glory days, yeah? Back in the day, I watched a lot of soaps, but I have a special place in my heart for ATWT. My Queer As Folk friends lured me back to the show with their Luke/Noah squee, and I was pleased to find that a lot of my old favorites were still on the show (although, Martha Byrne's Lily was just re-cast).
Anyway, I honestly can't say if it's better or not. I mostly just watch for Luke and Noah, and I admit I've done my share of handwaving -- it's still a soap, after all. But they're just so adorable and appealing and hot :) And Holden's such a great dad to Luke! I'd hate to see this sweet story fall victim to the AFA :(
