Hmm... so, no updates for awhile. What can I say, for the most part my life is pretty boring. Most exciting thing to happen to me before today was getting my Death Knight in WoW to level 80... which is exciting for me. Kinda dull to other people ( Read more... )

Also (and sorry I didn't say so in my first response - was trying to keep it lighthearted but reading it later I just sound like an ass), good luck with the job hunt. It sucks to have your job pulled out from under you, but I'm sure you'll be able to find something.

I'm glad you seem to be taking it calmly - it's the best way to approach this kind of thing.

Thanks, and I'm on Winterhoof with a pretty solid guild so no plans on moving anytime soon.

Wow, (not the game).

You're the second friend in Ontario in 24 hours to be told he's losing his job.
fucky do Scott.

You seem to be going through what i usually go through though. you didn't really like staying at convergy's and you said yourself you were going to leave eventually. now you have to.

i've left a couple jobs like that. it's always been for the best. You'll definitely find something better and at this new place wherever it is, you'll be able to move up and have steady hours.
You should also spend some time and get your A+ certification if you haven't already. it'll definitely look good.

Miss you Scott. wish i was there to help out.

I'll do fine, Probably wait for any of that stuff until I find out more concretely if I even get in there. Apparently if you're with them for ~6 months you can start looking to move up the food chain, and they're an actual software development firm doing their tech support in house so "moving up the food chain" indicates actually getting into software development. (eep! like a real job!)

Hey Scott,

If you're willing to relocate to Sudbury, I could probably hook you up with a job here where I work. Send me your resume (llemaire@vianet.ca <-- my work email) and I'll forward it to my friends in the tech support / networking department. :)

Sorry to hear about the whole job loss thing. That's the friggin pits, and I'm really sorry that it's happening to you.

I'll keep you in mind, but relocating would probably be towards the end of my list of things I'd be interested in. (plus my mom's head would asplode with happiness if she thought I was moving north at all :P)

if you get an email from me towards the end of March consider my other efforts to be fail.
