You know what's funny? I was thinking about you after seeing a Manic Street Preacher's line. My brain and it's associations. Anyways, I'm in Northeastern China, teaching English and social at the moment. It's actually pretty chilly here and I just woke up from a seven hour nap. Oops.
Fannish stuff-Sherlock and Marvel for me. I admit that I'm a sucker for a pretty face. LOL.
So that's what's happening here. I'm probably going to travel this summer and hit the coast of China and even the Trans-Siberian railway. We'll see. Take care!
Oh, wow - China sounds awesome! TRANS-SIBERIAN RAILWAY OMG JEALOUS. I'd love to see that part of the world. (Although I'm surprised LJ isn't blocked there, tbh.)
I've been into Sherlock as well, but it hasn't quite grabbed me like I thought it would - a few weeks of gorging on fic and then I got a bit tired. I guess it's because there's so little canon (in terms of the current series). It did finally force me into reading the original stories, though. Well, not reading so much as listening to them on audiobook while I knit. :D
It really is! I gush about it way too much on tumblr, to be honest. Yes, it is hard teaching, but after nearly being here for two months, I'm enjoying it.
I think they only target real specific blog sites. I can't twitter and that's sucky, since I love twitter, but otherwise, it's not bad.
Yeah! I'm trying to get tickets and information about taking it this summer and chilling in Moscow or something Keeping my fingers crossed.
I hear you on that in regards ton Sherlock. I've not yet reached a saturation point in regards to the fan fiction (I've just made my foray into it, to be honest. I've not had much time to really write because China seriously blows your mind. I just managed to produce a couple of works since being here. I hope to rectify that soon.
Anyways, yeah, that's all over here! Glad to hear you're doing good!
I'm seriously envious of you for getting to experience China! I can't even begin to imagine how different it must be - culturally, geographically, everything else... *dreams about travelling*
I wish I could point you towards Sherlock recs or something but tbh I'm completely out of my depth. I feel like I did when I first got into fandom, all lost and bewildered. XD
*waves* I missed seeing your posts, hun! I'd love the political and the crafty stuff. Especially the crafty stuff! And other random things, to be honest. I mostly stalk people on LJ because they post rl things--which makes me sound a bit like a creeper, doesn't it? Ngl, I friend people here if they post things other than fandom stuff in their LJ. It's boring otherwise. Especially since I seem to have moved on to a different fandom, and most of my friends here are still pretty much active in the HP fandom.
And that's about it for me... Moved on to a different fandom and looking at a lot of Sherlock gifs. >.>
*Glomps* Ahh, that's so nice of you to say! I miss posting, to be honest, it's just that I don't have anything fandomy to bleat about and like I say, I'm never sure anyone would want to read anything else! I'm going to post again soon, I think, as I've made several new things recently that I want to share. :)
I wish I could be more enthusiastic about Sherlock - I do enjoy it, but it hasn't sparked in me like I thought it would, you know? I've been such a fangirl all my life, I'm not sure what to do now that there's no fic that interests me. :/
I've made several new things recently that I want to share. :)
I look forward to seeing them! \o/ I haven't seen much by way of rl posts recently, and I was afraid people have left LJ and moved on to other things--I still want my rl posts!
I think I only like looking at the gifs and fanart, I don't really read a lot of Sherlock fics--I think it's sort of like how I feel about Supernatural, I like seeing people fangirl about it and looking at the shiny things, but I'm not going to be making any shiny things of my own about it. The show is enough for me, idk.
I'm going to post them in the next couple of days, I think. \o/

I'm afraid of this too! I feel like it's a bit self-fulfilling, in a way. Like, I rarely post any more because I've noticed there seem to be fewer people around to read my posts, but because I'm not posting as much I'm not commenting either...
I think it's also because - like you said - that there is a lot more interest in fanart and gifs now and those are easier to find on tumblr. IDK IDK.
lol it amuses me that after explaining that you aren't feeling fannish about anything, we get to point b., in which you go on fannishly about your love for Skyward Sword.
(I could write a fucking essay about why it doesn't count, but long story short: when it comes to Zelda I don't want fic etc. The game is enough. That's why it's different.)
