So I didn't say anything about this before because I didn't want to jinx anything or be too excited or anything, but here is some news: my gentleman friend and I have bought a house
( Read more... )
Congratulations! That's so wonderful. Wooden floorboards, nice! And your garden sounds great and you get to keep chickens! That's awesome. This is fantastic news and I'm really happy for you.
SHIT SHIT SHIT I'M A FUCKING ADULT WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO
If it helps, a friend of mine bought a house and his reaction was exactly the same - half-delighted, half-freaking out. But don't worry, everything will be okay!
You're so right about rent. It's really disgraceful in some places. I know rent prices are really high in Sydney. I know a few people who've bought homes and they also had help from their parents because it was the only way they could buy a house and get out of that rent cycle.
*hug* Thank you so much, darling! I'm really excited, and yes, freaking out. But this is definitely the right thing to do. Aaaaaahhhh, adulthood though.
The rent situation is so messed up, isn't it. It's bad enough where I am and it's not even the most expensive. Like, I can't imagine how people on minimum-wage jobs and stuff manage to live somewhere like London. D:
OMG SO FUCKING EXCITED FOR YOU I MIGHT WET MYSELF A LITTLE!
Love this! it's so weird buying a house and doing grown up shit! I keep wondering when people will find out that I may look like a grown up, but I'm actually not on the inside!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. PICTURES!!!
And P.P.S MY HOUSE IS FROM 1930 TOOO!!!! OMG WE'RE HOUSE TWINSSSSSS!!!
I KNOW RIGHT. BEING A GROWNUP AAAAAAAHHHHHHH I CAN'T. I am going to make up for it by getting MASSIVELY covered in paint when we paint.
I will picspam like a boss when we're in. There will be HUGE blog posts.
I bet your 1930s is house is way lovelier than ours! I get the impression architecture in your part of the world was a bit prettier than it was here. :P
That is so exciting! Owning a house can be a daunting experience, yes, but it's yours and you can do whatever you want with it and I can just see you filling it with your crafty awesomeness. <3
You are absolutely right, of course! I'm nervous, but I'm SO EXCITED about being able to paint the walls the colour I want instead of landlord neutral. I've been subscribing to loads of decor blogs and researching how to build shelves and all kinds of shit like that. XD
