Unremarkable

I was cleaning my room last night and found a story written out in longhand on two different pieces of paper, one side each. I added in about two paragraphs to clarify the main plot, changed a few details, and fixed the structure. I have no idea just when I wrote this, but it was mixed in with the notes from my summer anatomy class.

I don't know ( Read more... )

Oh my goodness this was absolutely lovely. :) I'm really, really glad you posted.

I'm a huge fan of alternate universes like this... as I'm sure you know. Pick one thing - a reconciliation between Petunia and Lily before the latter's death - and everything cascades differently. Wonderful. I really liked the opening and closing sentences, and the fact that Harry has adopted the Dursley last name. That really does say a lot about this Harry's attitude towards his aunt, and vice-versa. :)

I like that Harry becomes friends with Neville and Hermione, mostly because they're all shy outcasts (or at least not incredibly popular).

I liked the details of Harry's relationship to Snape, too... and how Snape actually grudgingly helps him when asked!

The details of Harry's preparations for dying were heartbreaking. ;_; I really liked the image of the photograph with Petunia, Lily, their hubbies and their babies. <3 I also liked the detail of Petunia not being able to figure out owl post for a month ( ... )

As I mentioned, this was in a pile of papers. More accurately, it was on the back of lots of scribbles for Avatar plotting, and in the middle of hand-drawn diagrams of the brachial plexus. I ended up reading them while sitting in the middle of my room, then wandering over to my computer at 4:30 in the morning to type things out before I lost whatever was clicking in my head. I added quite a few of the parantheticals, since I was actually going to explain the world my head made up, but all of the original is still there ( ... )

"one where Lupin went to Azkaban and Sirius went to the bottle, and one (really cool, if I do say so myself) where Severus and Sirius switch--Gryffindor!Snape and Slytherin!Black, with the former ending up in Azkaban and the latter as the most charming double agent you're ever going to meet. (Snape's potions-based pranks made Black become an expert in potions out of self-defense. Snape's Animagus form is a panther.)" I fully expect to read these in full some day. ;) Feel free to bounce ideas off of me ( ... )

The main problem with Snape-the-Gryffindor (the premise of the entire new universe-- I always thought Black and Potter met on the train, and the introduction ended with Potter breaking Black's nose. Somehow, the two of them patched things up when stuck on a boat together, and by the time they get to the Sorting hat, Black wants to be a Gryffindor. Somehow, they became enemies with Snape in that time. Instead, James Potter met SNAPE on the train, and the world went a bit crooked ( ... )
