Doesn't sound appealing......there seems to be more and more "expensive " restaurant opening up here but I don't think it will last. Portsmouth is fundamentaly a poor working class naval town......the percentage of the population who can afford to FREQUENT those types of places is in the absolute minority and as we are nosediving towards a recesion again luxuries and high-end spending is the first to feel the pinch. I am not a merchant of doom at all I just prefer to support local business that offer value for money....not cheap.......just good value/quality/service consistantly....all reviews of high end places leave people a little disapointed from what I've seen.
to be honest I wanted to walk right out the door when we got there, especially when I saw the prices. And I'm with you on the good value/quality/ service/consistency.
It was like a 'high class' restaurant wannabe that had been watching a lot of Gordon Ramsey to get it's ideas from.
Yes I hold Gordon Ramsey to blame for a lot of things...piling the food up instead of arranging it round the plate and then thinking that justifys charging 20 quid per head does not really cut it in my book ! lol
