Unless you live under a rock, you should've heard by now that Brisbane is flooding, and it's flooding bad. I remember the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, and I remember standing in my safe, dry, fancy university dorm room staring at the news in horror but doing, essentially, nothing. Not this fucking time

It is pretty awful in Queensland. I have friends and their families up there, one who I haven't heard from yet... but she is a tough-as-nails emergency room doctor so I can't imagine a mere flood stopping her. XD I live in Victoria and am thankfully away from the catastrophe up north though we did get flood alerts yesterday. It's been raining all week...
