Oldschool Björk

This is mainly for nerdork, who expressed curiosity in The Sugarcubes the other day.

The Sugarcubes - Birthday:
Featuring hilarious/endearing eighties graffixxxx, traipses through Reykjavík, and Björk in her early twenties singing ~*~scandalous~*~ lyrics.
The Sugarcubes were the first Icelandic band to become internationally famous.

The Sugarcubes - Hit:
Featuring Einar, Björk being adorable (geeez, she was little more than a chillun in those days), not-so-subtle references to female fertility (a common theme in early Björk stuff), and angst. Angst that you can bounce to.

The Sugarcubes - Deus:
I ONCE MET HIM. IT REALLY SURPRISED ME. HE PUT ME IN A BATHTUB . . . MADE ME SQUEAKY CLEAN . . . REALLY CLEAN.
I’ll let this one ~speak for itself~

Tappi Tíkarrass - Dúkkulísur (live):
Björk when she really was a chillun (just shy of seventeen) performing in one of the first incarnations of her band-that-eventually-became-The Sugarcubes. ‘‘Tappi Tíkarrass’’ so classily translates to ‘‘Cork the bitch’s ass.’’ Lyrics (with an English translation) here.

Kukl - Anna:
I don’t know how representative this is of the rest of Kukl’s stuff, being as it’s the only Kukl song I’ve heard to date. I figured I’d include it for the sake of doing so, though. It’s early Björk! Roughly a year after Tappi Tíkarrass disbanded. Björk’s early avant garde influence shows pretty vividly here. Kukl means "devil/demon" in Icelandic.
Also, apologies for the sound and visuals both being so crappy in quality.
I personally enjoy this video and song for its many incidents of unintended hilarity.
