I picked up my key to the first year grad students' office today and staked out the best desk and chair. Oh, the advantage of being in the ling department long before any of the other new students arrive! I'm going to be taking some stuff there next week, along with some cleaning supplies (it's kind of gross in there at the moment). I'm looking

Yay! It'll be good to have you around more, for sure. So which desk did you end up with? Or should I just go and see you there some time and find out?

It's the desk that was immediately to the right of Adele's (former) desk. I thought it was optimally placed in the room. Fairly in line with the A/C, while not being smack dab in front of it, not in a corner and with shelf space right above me.

I'll be there on Monday. I'll be dropping off a timesheet anyway, so I plan to bring a few cleaning supplies and make the desk and surrounding area not super-gross anymore (it's pretty disgusting at the moment).

If I'm picturing this correctly, then my guess is that you have my old desk, then. That one was a good position, yeah (although the shelves appeared after I was there). I hope you enjoy it. ^_^
