Oh that's easy for once. that afghan girl on the cover of National Geographic in the early 90's, with the piercing green eyes. I think most everybody knows the one, really captured something with that one.

I love the cover of National Geographic with the other picture of her holding the younger picture of her.

I know right? I don't think somebody from the west could ever convey that complete lack of pretension. We're too worried about the opinions of others no matter how self actualized we think we are.

Reminds me of an LJ icon I saw recently.

The entire frame is a cartoon camera which very slowly takes a snapshop. Next panel says, "Ha! I just stole your soul!"

And yet the act of seeking that and capturing it, changes it.
