(It is inadvisable to) Awaken the Guardian

If I wanted a five player magic-heavy, blood-drenched game set to only the most obnoxious heavy metal (queue Fates Warning, Rhapsody of Fire, or any other appropriate high-fantasy concept album factory) how would I match up the schools of magic with the instruments? See my last entry for a few more details.

Five Schools of Magic
  • Alteration
  • Conjuration
  • Evocation
  • Illusion
  • Divination xor Abjuration
Five Schools of Rock
  • Vocals
  • Guitar
  • Drums
  • Bass
  • Keyboards
Why Five?
Five is a nice number of people to have in a band, and a nice number of people to have in an RPG. Besides, it provides an excellent tie-in to the Megadeth song Five Magics. Essentially what I need to know is if I've picked five appropriately linearly independent DnD-esque schools of magic and is there a clear way to tie them to the various band-mates? I'm not super attached to the specific list of schools and can't even decide if I'd like Divination or Alteration to be on the list (so they share an entry).

What can you do to help?
I'd like to run this scenario locally, but I would also love to run it for folks who will me in attendance at Gen Con. If you've got a better idea, let it be known, but my thought on this is to have players submit each list ranked from "most awesome" to "least awesome" and then I'll try to give each person what they want. I'd just use the Dread questionnaire, but I don't want overlap if I don't have to have any. Commentary is welcome, especially if you'd like to play, be it here or at the con in August.
