It's gonna take time, and you just have to be patient. I think the biggest problem with all of this is that you don't want to put the time in, you just want to get to the action. I admire what you are doing, but you have to keep working and saving up and you are just going to have to deal with your current situation until you do. Don't let yourself get too stressed out over everything, because it is only going to make you want to get out even more and you are just going to have to wait for that.

As for dad, he just wants the best for you in his own spoiled, rich, snotty, selfish way. He automatically assumes that the things that make him happy are going to make other people happy, and the things that make him miserable are going to make other people miserable. He is self-centered but he means well (at least this time).

Just try and stay calm and patient and everything will work out.
