ive switched to friends-only, inspired by rhi and the new social media policy at work. it just seemed smart. its a bit shit for a couple of people who read but dont have journals, but thatll be fine.

today was a bit shit in places. then i et fush n chups, and im significantly happier. hurrah!!

theyre not attempting to control ayone. theyre just reminding employees that theres a code of conduct, and that a certain amount of discretion is expected of their staff, and that this applied to social media as much as it does any other form of media. if i wrote a newspaper column and bagged the department, itd be stupid. ditto a blog or anything similar. especially if i did so while actually at work.

i have found the policy while i've been at MoJ to be a real pain... at this point there is NO social media allowed at all. can't even get into gmail.
i much prefer the policy at Datacom and will certainly appreciate being back in my own office (in April) for that reason

Yeah, the friends only thing is probably a good idea. I might be doing that myself before long.
