Eames used to pull Arthur into one-armed hugs and ruffle his hair it falls out of place, grab Arthur by the back of his shirt, and make passes him. Now he just lies there, breathing, pale and unnmoving.

Arthur climbs to his feet. "You're a bastard." He says, the words coming before he has the chance to think. He grabs his jacket, swiveling around when he reaches the doorway.

"I hope you know that, Eames." he says. "And I hope you never wake up because you don't deserve to live."

wow, it's a bit early to start dreading november in august, but my god was the second piece a real gut-wrencher... I half expected eames never to wake up... oh and the talking to coma patients always kinda reminds me of 'talk to her'... and that guilt and that longing, so well written... thanks for the beautiful read...

I've been in quite a few fandoms and read far far too much fic, but this is the only one to have ever brought me close to tears and I'm not a big crier. I love your writing (although if I'm being a pedant, I think Eames would have said trousers, not pants, but I'll shut up about that now).
