Wow was Sunday ever hot. I tell you, when we started filming around the Grand Canyon and it was nice and cool, we certainly didn't envision being perfectionist enough to reshoot/shoot additional scenes where we still have to wear the jeans and long sleeve shirts that we did then. Ack! Cicadas! I was reading about the cycle they follow in their lifespan; it lasts something like 17 years, but they don't come up out of the ground until they're ready to get laid (eggs, that is) and die. What a life - living underground for that long!

Yep. They said in locations where they have since done stuff like, say, built a parking lot within the past 17 years, those cicadas will die because they can't get out of the ground. Sad to think about.... but they more than make up for it in sheer volume.

Sunday was hot, and we had no air conditioning. It was beyond nasty, but I'll take an inferno over the cicadas ANY day.

I wish you would stop being such a tease... its girls like you that make cicadas wish they had just stayed asleep. I mean, poor guy, he waits 17 years to get some, and you're behind a screen. Unless its a female cicada, in which case I'm cool with it because I'm open minded... but you're still a tease.

See, it's not like I'm leading him on, though! I totally told him I didn't do interspecies. He just won't take a hint. And it's starting to get sort of creepy. He doesn't even look away when I'm changing.

Well I was gonna say, you leave the blinds up when you change, what's a cicada supposed to think? You know they're not the smartest insects around. And he's only 17... think about what boys were like in your high school. Same thing!
