personally i favour the up-front approach. the trouble is, when im really into someone, i turn into a mute. another difficulty is the mental age discrepancy between we girls and young men our age. another problem is that you really have to spell it out for a young man if you like him. they really dont understand. they are more frightened than we are of looking desperate, or like an idiot, or indeed, sexually inappropriate ( ... )

i like your idea... we have to modify our approach. as a whole. but yeah, my friend maria said what you said in another way the other day... "ok so you try... and if it doesnt work, then maybe there's a reason! maybe he's just not cool enough." got it :)
