Title: More complicated than a kiss.
Prompt: Will Zimmerman
Warnings: None
Summary: Follow up to Flying Monkeys. Will POV.

Will could feel the ghost of her lips on his cheek as he made his way through the Sanctuary corridors towards his office. It sat in place, claiming the small expanse of skin as it's own, reminding him of what had occurred only minutes previously. He considered he was currently sporting a lipstick mark more telling than the grin on his face, but a quick check in a mirror revealed nothing more than his smile and Henry looking at him as if he was mad.

“Dude,” the confused Lycan queried “you ok? You look spaced.”

“Yeah, yeah Henry,” Will nodded “better than okay actually.”

He should know better by now than to lose his head over such a simple gesture, but a sudden rush of serotonin had left him feeling light headed and fuzzy, his mind reeling as he replayed the moment over in his head. Helen Magnus liked him, and like a schoolboy he found himself both excited and daunted by the prospect.

“Really? 'Fess up. I could do with some good news.” Henry followed Will as he started to move, obviously searching for what had left his friend grinning like an idiot in the middle of a working day.

“Maybe later,” Will bargained, realizing suddenly the consequences of any rumor this event may start “after you've got that report on the new security procedures to Magnus.”

“Ah,” Henry shook his head “low blow. So who is she?”

“She's no one,” Will insisted “report, Magnus, go.”

Henry slunk off towards the elevator, turning before he stepped inside. “I'll get it out of you, one way or another!”

Will stopped for a moment, wondering what would happen when the others knew. They worked so closely together, it was inevitable that sooner or later one of them would guess that the flirtation was leading somewhere. What then? Magnus was his boss, she was the one who paid his wages and gave him orders, was it even viable to consider a romantic relationship under those circumstances?

Somehow James Watson had done it, but he had been a long term friend, an equal to Magnus. Will was... subservient, an employee, and under different circumstances this would be considered harassment. Not that any man would mind being harassed by Helen Magnus. He wondered how many men had been harassed by Helen Magnus. Was it ten, was it a hundred? When he entered his office Will shut the door, questions still filling his mind.

Would they tell people, eventually, if it worked out? Would it work out? Would they be a couple, hand in hand while he grew old or just a fling to fill the loneliness of evenings spent hunting abnormals? How would he compare to John, the love of her life, or James, her oldest friend? Even to Tesla, though no one knew exactly what had occurred there. Will straightened a pen on his desk, then opened his laptop, before he started over analysing things. His smile was fading fast. Things were always more complicated than a kiss.
