I just got word that Kevin Wilson, a man I've known since I was twelve passed away last night in St. Thomas. I think he was 30 years old.

I remember playing truth or dare with him and Mike at the playground in Lemon Creek in the middle of the night one summer when I was only 13. I told them things that I've never told anyone else.

Neither do I. Death is a very peculiar subject to me, and to be honest, one I'd either like to get more of or have none at all. I feel so "inexperienced" with death...yet, it's a major part of my existence, of your existence. Of the world. We live to Die. That's all there is when it comes to absolutes. I know that one day, I will die. I have no problem with my own death...it's just that of my friends ( ... )

Kevin was a good guy, despite all the fucked up shit he did, the drugs he took, the people he burned and the children he left behind. He had a good heart, and that's a part of what I'll remember.

I'd hate to see what someone would have to do in order for you to think they had/have a 'bad' heart. :)

I know, I know, I'm a softie. But sometimes, even if they don't use those "good hearts" often, I can see right through people and know its there. Kevin really was a good guy...he just liked to get high.

If it makes more sense, I haven't really cried for him. I knew him, and knew him a long time - but didn't love him like I do most people...because of the things he's done. But still, he was a good guy. What can I say.
