The story of *my* Two Weeks Notice

May 09, 2009 12:07

So, I fell off the face of livejournal for a few weeks there. Yikes, but when real life hits, it hits HARD.

What was I up to? Well, I'm so glad you asked.

In short, I was working three jobs as I gave notice at one restaurant job, started training at another, and worked to build a show at the theatre in two weeks instead of three.

The nitty gritty details )

update, work, just life

Eeek indeed.

I work tomorrow (well, this) evening and Ben's going to be at his mom's house for Mother's day.

Sorry!! Hopefully next week.

How are you still alive?! Jeez. Still, happier at Red Robin than the old restaurant. Ps, forgive a wolf's ignorance but what does 'bus' and serve' involve? Good luck with the show.

That is an excellent question; I'm really not sure how I'm still alive.

And MUCH happier at Red Robin, definitely.

Bussing is clearing and resetting tables after guests have left.

Serving is taking orders, getting drinks, and making sure the guests are happy and taken care of while they're there.

Serving is a tiring job. But I gotta say, I love it and I'm sure you will too:)

Oh, I like the serving. It was more the building and hauling around big heavy things at the theatre job that had me tuckered out.

Admittedly, my job is nowhere near as physical as yours, but let me say: welcome to my world. 70+ hours a week sucks, no matter how you slice it.

Yikes. You have to do that on a regular basis? Dear lord, I think I'd die.

I almost did die, and it was only two weeks.

Hope you got paid for all the training classes. That's insane, dude. I'm glad you were proactive and asked the Italian place what was going on. Also, Italian place = suck because you'd be a sweet server. Scarily efficient and nice. :)

I hope you get to sleep next week!

Oh man, Friday night I slept so hard. It was awesome.

I am a scarily efficient server. It's funny. :D I'm really enjoying it thus far, and very grateful that the stupid Italian place didn't ask me to serve because I wouldn't have gotten the job at Red Robin, and I really like it thus far.
