It was a year ago yesterday that I lost my best non-human friend, but I managed to keep my shit together. Seven years is a disgracefully short amount of time.

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss... but seven years spend together with two souls that care so much for eachother is a gift indeed. I hope your happy memories will overcome your wounds sadness in time to come

I'm so sorry. I can relate. I had my Reznor, who was like a child to me, and he passed away at 5 years old. I've lost 8 others as well. There's so, so much love and happiness in these little creatures, the short life span just isn't fair. Have you read ferret prayer? Here is is if you haven't
