Ferret Giving Tree

There are several oldsters on the trees that could really use a fast Santa that sends their gifts right away. Will you be their Santa?

Here's a list of the elder oldsters, some not in good health so they could really use a Santa that sends gifts right away. A small gift to show the shelter mom or dad they're appreciated is welcome ( Read more... )

I already picked some out (not from this list) and send most of their stuff to them already!

I started reading some of their profiles :-( that's so sad, I wish I could adopt them all and smother them with kisses!

You don't have to adopt them all, just one will do. Especially if other people feel the same way.

You're welcome, and that's one adorable Frumious Bandersnatch you've got there.

I am sad. One of the ferrets I picked out from the giving tree, Zen, went to the bridge today. :( Luckily I got most of the the fun stuff that I had planned on sending him out to him early last week- a stocking stuffed with a sleep sack, a toy, and treats, plus more treats and food so he was able to enjoy some of it before he left. The only thing I hadn't sent out yet was a gift card and he wouldn't get much fun out of that!

It is sad, but I applaud you for your effort. As far as the gift card goes I'm sure the shelter would be grateful to have it in Zen's memory. Think about it since you'd earmarked it to go that way anyway.

Sometimes I get really honked about the short lives so many of these little darlings lead. I know that my own life has been so deeply enriched by the addition of these creatures. I can't imagine going back to a time when I didn't have one (or two or three - or more).

Oh I'm still sending the gift card. I picked out 3 ferrets from the same shelter so I sent 3x everything, including 3 different types of food, 3 stockings, etc. I'll have 3 gift cards to send out next week, just need to pick up 2 more of them.

If I have any money left after my human gift shopping is done I'll pick out a few more ferrets next month. Of course, I might also be picking out a ferret itself to join my crew too.

I need to get my butt in gear and get those extra-fluffy sleep sacks made. I'm contributing items to two separate FGT pairs of ferts. I've got to check to see if I need to make them extra wide (as in 'do these ferrets like to cuddle with each other) or if each ferret will require his or her own sleep sack.

If you're still feeling generous after all your holiday ferret support, why not consider sponsoring a ferret at a shelter, sanctuary, or hospice? I know of one place where the only cash they have is through their own fundraisers. They get nothing from SOS.
