So, I saw this meme in alazysod's journal weeks ago, and now I've decided to do it, along with other stuff.

(Yes, this is a PB post, but quick note on the Shawn/Gus: I don't actually think I'd want to see them have sex. I'm thinking more like a cutesy kissy-kissy thing. Like I can see Shawn suddenly leaning in and kissing Gus on the lips, all cute-like, and Gus pulls back, totally taken by surprise and he's annoyed!Gus, as usual, and he wipes his mouth with his hand and says, "What the hell was that?" And Shawn just smiles and says, in his Shawn-like way, "You liked it," with some emphasis on the word "like" and sort of drawn out in a sing-songy way, if you catch my drift. And Gus tries his damnedest to pretend he didn't and says, "No, I did not!" but his eyes and his fidgety movements belie his statement. Yup, that's a scene I'd like to see.)
Anyway, that's pretty much the meme. And I looked at my answers and realized how many Michael pairings I like. I'm not even sure if he's my favorite character, but he's just so central to everything. He's got a connection with almost every other character on the show. And he looks great with them all too. :)
Reminds me of a post thelana made not too long ago about what makes a new or minor character "pop" in a show. And suddenly I thought, As a character, you know you've made it when you get paired with Michael in fiction. But seriously, the guy's been with everyone! Okay, not everyone, but let's examine who I've seen or read him with...

If anyone has read a fic in which Michael is paired with any of those people, let me know. I'd be curious to see it. Except maybe Michael/Aldo, Michael/Pope, and Michael/Westmoreland. Those kinda freak me out. They're fine in a gen way, but not as anything romantic.
Also? I actually once started a fic that was to contain Michael/Maricruz. I had this crazy idea (I tend to pull those out of nowhere) and started writing it, but, like so many of my other fics, I never finished it. It was meant to be funny, but it started getting all angsty, so I immediately abandoned it. It wasn't titled yet, but the name of the file was "Maricruzisawhore." Basically, Sucre shows Michael a picture of his girlfriend and Michael realizes he's slept with her before on the outside, but he doesn't tell Sucre because he doesn't want to destroy his happiness. See? That's already starting to sound unfunny. My inner angst whore is so persistent that she won't let me write a humorous story.
And this gets me on the subject of some really "off" pairings that I have enjoyed over the years. Fic recs!
